Fledermausfest 2009 at the Spandau Citadel!

Actually, the Berlin Conservation Team-BAT - e. V. had planned in 2009, no Fledermausfest. The financial and human burden of the expansion and renovation of the Keller's bat, construction of the second enclosure, development of the pig head, and many other projects took our honorary members but very busy.
Since we had the idea started like, as in summer, the Berlin public transport approached us: a big summer festival under the motto "encounter with bats should be celebrated.
We will gladly responded to the cooperation with the SNB, and finally we found it offers the opportunity but a Fledermausfest for our loyal visitors and friends to organize the nocturnal animals flutter.
Within a short time, many participants of Fledermausfeste in recent years to take part are obtained: Birds Committee Vsk, NABU, BUND and squirrels help, just to name a few. In addition to ceramic handicrafts, stones and scents, may not be missing our faithful Count Dracula. In his mystical lounge with coffin, he sets up the face painting.

The celebration of the bats this year thus provides the opportunity for young and old to learn in a colorful program of public transport and lots of interesting facts about the protected animals and at the same time to welcome the entry into its autumnal mating and winter quarters. At the same time the festival of the season opener for the popular autumn tours in the casemates and walkways to the slope squares of Natterer's bat, greater mouse-eared and Co. Finally, the citadel still one of the most important European bat roosts with a few thousand copies of these interesting animals.
